Basketball Recap: Bel Air's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Americas, Bel Air was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 53-45 win over the Deming Wildcats. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Highlanders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 914th in Texas, while the Wildcats are ranked 126th in New Mexico).

Bel Air's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kenny Wilson, who posted 12 points. What's more, Wilson also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Diego Macias, who scored five points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Bel Air's win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-15. As for Deming, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-17.

Bel Air will venture away from home to square off against Horizon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bel Air is facing Horizon at the right time seeing as Horizon is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Deming, they will square off against Da Vinci at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Da Vinci's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
