Softball Recap: Hiawatha's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Hiawatha was forced to take a big defeat against they on Thursday, they got the better of them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Rossville Bulldogs by a score of 9-5. The win was some much needed relief for the Red Hawks as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Kylie Nelson, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaeleigh Ruckman, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Hiawatha was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They are 4-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Hiawatha's victory bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Rossville, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5.

As of now, neither Hiawatha nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
