Recap: Jefferson Mustangs vs. Burbank Bulldogs
The Jefferson Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 15th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Burbank, falling 61-24. While losing is never fun, Jefferson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1336th, while Burbank is ranked 358th).
Destiny Duenas was Jefferson's leading scorer, having posted ten points.
Jefferson has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 18 of their last 19 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-24 record this season. As for Burbank, they pushed their record up to 22-8 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home.
Jefferson will take on Alamo Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Alamo Heights focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Friday. As for Burbank, they will head out on the road to square off against Lanier at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
