Basketball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for Perry County Central

Perry County Central won against Knox Central last Saturday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Perry County Central Commodores walked away with a 61-49 victory over the Leslie County Eagles. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 69-46 victory back in January.

Despite the defeat, Leslie County had strong showings from Jesse Hoskins, who on his way to 17 points and five boards, and Tripp Brashear, who posted six points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Brashear a new career-high in assists (four). Nathan Lewis was another key player, putting up six points.

Perry County Central's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points over those games. As for Leslie County, their loss dropped their record down to 15-15.

Looking ahead, Perry County Central will face off against Hazard at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hazard knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Perry County Central likes a good challenge. Leslie County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
