Football Recap: McLean Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If McLean was feeling good fresh off their 74-52 takedown of Springlake-Earth last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers were dealt an 88-39 defeat at the hands of the Miami Warriors on Friday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

McLean lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Angel Vega, who picked up 114 receiving yards and four scores. Stran Henderson handled things on the ground, rushing for 95 yards.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for McLean, racking up 15 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Miles Reynolds, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Miami's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noah Homfeld, who rushed for 216 yards and five touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 96 receiving yards and one TD. That's the most receiving yards Homfeld has posted since back in October of 2024. Another back making a difference was Chance White, who rushed for 264 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 13.2 yards per carry.

McLean's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Miami, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, McLean will head out to take on Happy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Cowboys' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.2 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Miami, they will be playing at home against Holy Cross Catholic Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
