Basketball Recap: Potter's House Christian Comes Up Short

Potter's House Christian lost against Covenant Christian back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Potter's House Christian Pumas had to suffer through an 80-30 loss at the hands of the Covenant Christian Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Pumas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 549th, while the Chargers are ranked 44th).

Potter's House Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Ezekiel VerWys and Isaiah Ponstine. VerWys posted eight points, while Ponstine earned six points.

Potter's House Christian has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. The win was the third in a row for Covenant Christian, bringing their record for this year to 16-4.

Potter's House Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 76-50 loss against West Michigan Aviation Academy on the 18th. As for Covenant Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 59-53 victory against Schoolcraft on the 18th.
