Basketball Game Preview: Kennedy Cougars vs. Aspire Langston Hughes Academy Titans

The Kennedy Cougars will challenge the Aspire Langston Hughes Academy Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Kennedy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.1 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Kennedy came up short against Grant and fell 53-42. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Clif Chandler-Manning, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Lawrence, who had 12 points.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Aspire Langston Hughes Academy beat Ben Holt College Prep Academy 59-53 on Friday.

Aspire Langston Hughes Academy has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Kennedy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Kennedy against Aspire Langston Hughes Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, as the squad secured an 85-30 win. In that game, Kennedy amassed a halftime lead of 45-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
