Softball Recap: Waunakee Comes Up Short

Waunakee lost against Milton back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Warriors fell 6-3 to the Red Hawks. The Warriors' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Waunakee got a good showing from Zaria Hyman, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Waunakee saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryla Ripp, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Audra Ubersox also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Waunakee's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Milton, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Waunakee is set to square off against their familiar foe DeForest at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Milton will face off against rival Watertown at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
