After flying high against Hillhouse on Monday, Fairfield Prep came back down to earth. The Jesuits fell 7-4 to the Hand Tigers on Wednesday. The Jesuits' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Fairfield Prep got a good showing from Anthony Pavano, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Pavano a new career-low.

At the plate, JJ Schachinger was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ryan Ventrelle, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Fairfield Prep's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Hand, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-5.
