Volleyball Recap: Brookfield Takes a Loss

Brookfield lost against LaBrae on September 2nd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Warriors fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 3-2. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Brookfield took LaBrae into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-13, 20-25, 19-25, 15-11.

Brookfield's offense was headlined by MaRae Craig and Cassie Samios, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Rylie Burdge and her 33 assists. Finally, Craig was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high eight blocks.

Brookfield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for LaBrae, their victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 14-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Brookfield will challenge rival Southeast at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, LaBrae is set to take on their familiar foe Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
