Basketball Recap: Robinson Now 13-1 over Last 14 Games

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Robinson ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans 68-66. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Trojans are ranked 229th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Da'Montre Harlee had an outrageously good game as he went 6-for-12 to rack up 20 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Roger Walton, who posted ten points.

Northwest Cabarrus' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anderson Lee, who earned 20 points and six rebounds. Lee's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Ezekiel Brown was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 13 boards.

Robinson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Northwest Cabarrus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.

Robinson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-53 win against Central Cabarrus on the 11th. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 77-64 defeat against Concord on the 11th.
