Centennial is 2-8 against Normal West since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Chargers are taking a road trip to challenge the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Centennial is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Centennial didn't have quite enough to beat St. Joseph-Ogden and fell 6-4.

Centennial saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kam Murphy, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Another was Tate Sauer, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Normal West didn't have quite enough to beat Centennial on Monday and fell 7-6.

Drew Hart made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Temples, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Centennial now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Normal West, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.

Centennial skirted past Normal West 7-6 when the teams last played on Monday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
