Volleyball Recap: John Marshall Takes a Loss

John Marshall was the 3-0 winner over Parkersburg when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Monarchs fell just short of the Big Reds by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.

John Marshall wouldn't go down easily and took Parkersburg into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The final score came out to 25-21, 20-25, 19-25, 25-20, 15-10.

When it comes to explaining why John Marshall lost, don't look at Sarah Hess. Despite the final result, she had 37 assists and 17 digs. Masyn Inclan was another key player, getting 19 digs.

John Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

John Marshall has already played their next game, a 1-1 tie against Madonna on the 23rd. As for Parkersburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Bridgeport on the 28th.
