Basketball Recap: Ty Leming's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northfield over Tri-Central

Northfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a hard 44-30 fall against the Tri-Central Trojans. The match marked the Norsemen's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Northfield's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ty Leming, who posted ten points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Baer, who put up eight points.

Even though they lost, Northfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Northfield's record now sits at 9-13. As for Tri-Central, they moved to 9-13 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. It'll be Northside v. Southside when Northfield and Southwood meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tri-Central, they will face off against Daleville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tri-Central will be up against Daleville's rather soft defense (which has allowed 61.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
