Basketball Recap: Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) vs. Pearsall Mavericks

Uvalde was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 61-45 bruising from the Pearsall Mavericks. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-43 two weeks ago.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pearsall to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xavier Rendon, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 15 boards. Another player making a difference was Marcus Woodard, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 18 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Uvalde's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Pearsall, they pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
