Volleyball Game Preview: West Johnston Wildcats vs. Middle Creek Mustangs

The West Johnston Wildcats will head out to square off against the Middle Creek Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

West Johnston is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Everything went their way against West Brunswick as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Wildcats not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since September 11th (when they won 3-0).

Meanwhile, Middle Creek posted their closest victory since October 7, 2024 on Tuesday. They skirted past Holly Springs 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Middle Creek wouldn't go down easily and took Holly Springs into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-18, 25-20, 17-25, 16-14.

West Johnston better focus on containing Cameron Gerber and Addison Davis as the pair were huge in Middle Creek's win. Gerber had 27 digs and two aces, while Davis had eight digs and two aces.

West Johnston's record is now 13-11. As for Middle Creek, their record now sits at 14-6.
