Baseball Recap: Hatch Valley Find Success

Hatch Valley hadn't done well against Cobre recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Bears narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Indians 7-6. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 5-3 victory on Saturday.

Hatch Valley got a great performance from NATHANIEL ALEXANDER as he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off three hits. ALEXANDER has become a key player for the Bears: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Hatch Valley let JUAN RUIZ and ALAN RUIZ run wild. JUAN went 1-for-2 with three runs and one double, while ALAN went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most runs JUAN has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was RAY RUIZ, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Hatch Valley and bumps their season record up to 12-13. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Cobre, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-10.

As of now, neither Hatch Valley nor the Indians have any future games scheduled.
