Recap: Starkville Academy Volunteers vs. Lamar Raiders
After losing to the Lamar Raiders the last time they met, the Starkville Academy Volunteers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Starkville Academy came out on top against Lamar by a score of 49-37 on Tuesday.
Lamar lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jonathan Hart, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Zion Huggins was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Starkville Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Lamar, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
Starkville Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Houlka at 10:45 a.m. on December 28th. Hopefully Houlka focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. Lamar and Nanih Waiya will round out the year against one another at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th at.
