Trinity Christian is 0-6 against Madonna since March of 2022 but things could change on Saturday. The Warriors will head out to challenge the Blue Dons at 12:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Saturday.
Trinity Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Tygarts Valley a 22-0 shutout on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Paige Hopkins made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Hopkins was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Peyton Moore was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Luciana Citerone also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Trinity Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tygarts Valley only posted an OBP of .182.
Meanwhile, Madonna waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They blew past the Cee-Bees 15-0. The result was nothing new for the Blue Dons, who have now won five matches by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Peyton Conley and Madi Owens did most of the damage at the plate: Conley went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple, while Owens went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Owens is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last six games she's played. Chloe Orecchio was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Madonna pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Trinity Christian, their record now sits at 4-2.
Trinity Christian suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Madonna in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
