Recap: Lexington Eagles vs. Poth Pirates
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Lexington Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. The match between the Eagles and the Pirates wasn't particularly close, with the Eagles falling 26-7. Lexington's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Owen Rhodus and Kase Evans certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Rhodus picked up 106 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Evans threw for 198 yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Lexington's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Zack Carter was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Poth, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 12-1 record.
Lexington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Poth will take on Tidehaven at TBD on Friday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Tidehaven: 3.4, Poth: 6.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
