Baseball Recap: Brewbaker Tech Comes Up Short

Brewbaker Tech had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 9-11 to make it four. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Holtville Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-7 on Tuesday.

Brewbaker Tech saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Braxter, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

As for Holtville, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games.

On Holtville's side, COLE PARRISH made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). PARRISH has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Holtville beat Brewbaker Tech by a score of 13-5 later that day.
