Softball Recap: Burley Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Burley dropped their record down to 13-9 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's nine-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Jerome Tigers by a score of 3-2. The Bobcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 7-6.

Adalynn Olmos put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Taylin Beck was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

As for Jerome, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-11. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games.

On Jerome's side, Briaunna Robbinette spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Jerome's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kourtney Harris, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one double.

Burley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-4 victory against Wood River on the 7th. Hopefully Jerome paid attention to the Bobcats' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Bobcats at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
