Baseball Recap: Van Horn Comes Up Short

Van Horn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Raytown Bluejays. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Falcons have suffered since April 7th.

Van Horn's loss dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Raytown, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-17.

Coming up, Van Horn will head out to take on Platte County at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Raytown, they have already played their next match, a 17-2 defeat against Fort Osage on the 16th.
