Football Game Preview: Ilwaco Fishermen vs. Raymond/South Bend Ravens

The Ilwaco Fishermen will face off against the Raymond/South Bend Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ilwaco's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three contests, but Thursday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ilwaco's offense might be in the hot seat on Thursday considering what happened against Adna on Friday. They had to suffer through a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Pirates.

Meanwhile, Raymond/South Bend got their first taste of in-conference action on Friday and they started things off strong. They took their game with ease, bagging a 44-7 win over Forks. That looming 44-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Ravens yet this season.

Ilwaco better keep an eye on Chris Banker. He was instrumental in Raymond/South Bend's win, rushing for 316 yards and five TDs while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. Banker really tore up the turf during one magnificent 87-yard run.

Raymond/South Bend was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 364 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 215 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

Raymond/South Bend's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-4. As for Ilwaco, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Ilwaco beat Raymond/South Bend 38-30 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Ravens' Isaac Schlueter, who rushed for 160 yards and one score while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 51 receiving yards and one touchdown. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be easier for the Fishermen to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
