Volleyball Game Preview: Imperial Tigers vs. Calexico Bulldogs

Imperial hasn't had much luck against Calexico recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.

Imperial is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Central.

While Imperial ultimately came up short, they really made Central work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 25-16, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Calexico had already won eight in a row and they went ahead and made it nine on Thursday. They blew past the Eagles 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-12, 25-17.

Calexico had a senior duo take command as Gerardo Diaz had 26 digs and five aces and Jose Pablo Reyna had nine digs, five kills, and two aces. Reyna has been hot, having also posted 18 or more assists the last eight times he's played. Jose Contreras was another key player, getting 12 digs and three aces.

Imperial's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Calexico, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
