Game recap: St. Patrick's Beachnau and Lay run past Litchfield

Danny Beachnau ran for four touchdowns and Collin Lay added two as well as St. Patrick (Portland, Mich.) beat Litchfield (Mich.) 67-6 on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a Kyle Schrauben touchdown run in the first quarter, the Shamrocks led 48-6 at the half.

St. Patrick expanded its lead to 54 points entering the fourth quarter. SP scored two times in the third, including once on a Beachnau touchdown run.

A 28-point first quarter set the table for the Portland school, which coasted the rest of the way for the victory.

The Shamrocks' standout player in the win was Lay. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and kicked four extra points. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.



The Terriers' lone touchdown came on a 46-yard run in the second quarter.

With the win St. Patrick extended its winning streak to four games.

Litchfield (0-4) goes up against Waldron in a Southern Michigan (8 Man) game matchup next week, while St. Patrick (4-0) locks horns with St. Philip Catholic Central also in a Southern Michigan (8 Man) game.
