Basketball Recap: York Cougars vs. Lancaster Bruins

York was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 29th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Lancaster Bruins and fell 53-20. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 73-27 last Wednesday.

A'merianna Ingram was York's leading scorer, having posted 14 points. Breana Elkins held things down on the boards with four rebounds. Gracin Carroll took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Lancaster got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Eliza Baskins out in front who went 9-for-14 to rack up 19 points and six steals. Baskins is becoming a predictor of Lancaster's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is 2-1 (and 10-12 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Zatyra Walls, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

York's defeat dropped their record down to 0-20. As for Lancaster, their victory bumped their record up to 12-13.

As of now, neither York nor Lancaster have any future games scheduled.
