Basketball Recap: Cascade Comes Up Short

Cascade lost against Cannon County back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cascade Champions were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 60-59 to the Cannon County Lions.

Several Champions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lizzie Keele, who posted 25 points. Those 25 points gave Keele a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophie Ray, who had 16 points.

Cascade's defeat dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Cannon County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Cascade will square off against Lewis County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cannon County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
