Basketball Game Preview: Burns Sci-Tech Eagles vs. Brevard HEAT Firehawks

The Burns Sci-Tech Eagles will take on the Brevard HEAT Firehawks at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Burns Sci-Tech comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Burns Sci-Tech is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Taylor on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Burns Sci-Tech was outmatched by Taylor and fell 51-11. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Brevard HEAT was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 58-46 to Pineapple Cove Classical Academy.

Burns Sci-Tech will have to keep a close watch on Riley Ellis and Aydin Younger, a pair of players who had a big impact on Brevard HEAT's prior game. Ellis went 9 of 20 on his way to 22 points, while Younger posted 12 points. Elias Ojala was another key player, putting up four points in addition to eight boards and three blocks.

Burns Sci-Tech's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Brevard HEAT, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

Burns Sci-Tech couldn't quite finish off Brevard HEAT in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 59-56. Can Burns Sci-Tech avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
