Basketball Recap: Lejeune Takes a Loss

Lejeune lost against North Duplin last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lejeune Devil Pups had to suffer through a 51-14 loss at the hands of the North Duplin Rebels. While losing is never fun, the Devil Pups can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 471st, while the Rebels are ranked 191st).

Madison McQueen was Lejeune's leading scorer, having posted nine points.

It was another big night for Tateyawna Faison, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 boards for North Duplin. Faison is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Maggie Brown, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Lejeune's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for North Duplin, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Lejeune didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-21 loss against Swansboro on the 12th. As for North Duplin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 46-30 defeat against East Duplin on the 12th.
