Baseball Game Preview: Northmont Thunderbolts vs. Springboro Panthers

For the second straight game, Northmont will face off against Springboro. The Thunderbolts will venture away from home to square off against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Springboro hit Northmont with a five-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Thunderbolts fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 7-6. The Thunderbolts' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Drake Sauber made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Aiden Pendleton also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Springboro pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Northmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
