The Olympic Heights Lions will challenge the Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Olympic Heights knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Dr. Joaquin Garcia likes a good challenge.

Olympic Heights secured a 55-49 W over Boca Raton Christian on Thursday. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Blazers are ranked 352nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Olympic Heights to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emma Alcalay, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists. Alcalay has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Waller, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Alcalay wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Olympic Heights was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Dr. Joaquin Garcia's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost 59-36 to Park Vista. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since November 21, 2024.

Olympic Heights' victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5.
