Basketball Game Preview: Pattonville Pirates vs. Hazelwood Central Hawks

After both having extra time off, the Pattonville Pirates and the Hazelwood Central Hawks will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Pattonville came up short against Cor Jesu Academy last Friday, falling 57-36. The Pirates have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hazelwood Central). They breezed by East St. Louis to the tune of 70-43 back in December of 2024. The victory was familiar territory for the Hawks who have now won four matchups in a row.

Hazelwood Central pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.6 points per game. As for Pattonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
