Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Prep Saints vs. Geneva Knights

Trinity Prep has gone a perfect 3-0 against Geneva recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The two teams will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Trinity Prep beat Horizon 62-58.

Trinity Prep found their leader in sophomore Zayn Kara, who shot 60% from the field en route to 18 points and six rebounds. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for Kara. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Font, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards.

Geneva has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a hard 76-57 fall against Innovation on Monday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Knights came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Bulls are ranked 455th).

Trinity Prep's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Geneva, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Everything went Trinity Prep's way against Geneva in their previous matchup back in January, as Trinity Prep made off with a 68-44 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
