The Atlee Raiders will face off against the Glen Allen Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Atlee 2.7, Glen Allen 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Glen Allen will be up against a hot Atlee team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Raiders put the hurt on Highland Springs with a sharp 19-4 victory on Monday. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 11 runs or more this season.
Sierra Kegley made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Atlee got a massive performance out of Izzie Turnauer, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Turnauer is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Camdyn Metts, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
Atlee hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 5-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Glen Allen's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Matoaca on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Jaguars' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Jaidyn Tillman spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up 16 Ks.
Atlee pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Glen Allen, their loss dropped their record down to 9-2.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Atlee hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .403. However, it's not like Glen Allen struggles in that department as they've averaged .337. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Atlee came up short against Glen Allen in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 4-1. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
