Centreville Academy suffers sixth straight loss at home

This season hasn't been kind to the Centreville Academy Tigers, who are still winless after their eighth game. They took a 66-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Christian Collegiate Academy on Monday. Centreville Academy has not had much luck with Christian Collegiate Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Christian Collegiate Academy found their leader in underclassman Payten Clark, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Clark continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Davis, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and four blocks.

Centreville Academy's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.2 points per game. As for Christian Collegiate Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-15.

Centreville Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against West Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. West Lincoln's defense has only allowed 27.9 points per game this season, so Centreville Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. Christian Collegiate Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
