Softball Recap: Lancaster Gets the Win

Lancaster came out on top against Clarence on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run sixth inning. The Legends walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Red Devils. For the Legends, this counts as revenge for the 5-3 win the Red Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Alyssa Brunner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Brennah DeWald was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Addison Stachewicz was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Lancaster now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Clarence, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lancaster will square off against Williamsville South at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Legends' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Billies have averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season. As for Clarence, they will challenge Williamsville East at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Flames will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Red Devils surely won't give up without a fight.
