Baseball Game Preview: Evansville Reitz Panthers vs. Mt. Vernon Wildcats

The Evansville Reitz Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Mt. Vernon Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Evansville Reitz challenged Princeton on Saturday. The Panthers came up short against the Tigers, falling 11-1. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Evansville Reitz saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Talan Willett, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Willett has snagged this season.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Mt. Vernon's offense. They lost 6-0 to Harrisburg on Saturday. The Wildcats' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Evansville Reitz is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. As for Mt. Vernon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
