Springstead picks up fifth straight win at home

The Springstead Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Gulf with a sharp 47-23 win on Wednesday. The victory was familiar territory for Springstead who now have four in a row.

Springstead got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addy Osborne out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Osborne pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Samantha Suarez, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.

Despite the defeat, Gulf saw an underclassman step up: Kristin Erstentine scored six points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Erstentine pulled down eight or more rebounds.

Springstead pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Gulf, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.

Weeki Wachee is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.5 points per game.
