Benedictine lost to Virginia Academy back in November of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Benedictine Cadets managed a 61-57 win over the Virginia Academy Patriots. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cadets.

Despite the loss, Virginia Academy still got an impressive performance from Rondel Jones Jr., who posted 30 points. Virginia Academy is 2-1 when Jones Jr. posts 25 or more points, but 10-14 otherwise. Mike Smith was another key player, putting up eight points and three blocks.

Benedictine's victory bumped their record up to 10-16. As for Virginia Academy, they dropped their record down to 12-15 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Benedictine will challenge Steward at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Benedictine has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Virginia Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fredericksburg Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 18th.
