Football Game Preview: North Olmsted Eagles vs. Rocky River Pirates

The North Olmsted Eagles will face off against the Rocky River Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

North Olmsted is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Lakewood on Friday. The Eagles really took it to the Rangers for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-14 win. The Eagles have beaten the Rangers the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Rangers has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, Rocky River got themselves on the board against Normandy on Friday, but Normandy never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Invaders 48-0. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won five contests by 26 points or more so far this season.

Rocky River didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Rowan Kennedy and Michael Worgull. Worgull is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last four games he's played. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

North Olmsted's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Rocky River, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

North Olmsted and Rocky River were almost perfectly matched up in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but North Olmsted suffered an agonizing 17-16 defeat.
