Center Grove came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Effingham Hearts.

Kaylen Plunkard paced Center Grove's offense, picking up eight kills. Plunkard got some help from Anabelle Schembra and her 20 assists. Schembra also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Skylyr Merriman, racking up two apiece.

Center Grove's win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Effingham, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Center Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Libertyville on the 13th. As for Effingham, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Centennial on the 13th.
