Basketball Recap: Northwest Halifax Takes a Loss

Northwest Halifax lost against North Edgecombe back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The game between the Northwest Halifax Vikings and the North Edgecombe Warriors didn't end well, with the Northwest Halifax Vikings falling 69-50. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Northwest Halifax lost, don't look at Keyara Rook. Despite the final result, she posted 29 points. That was a full 58% of Northwest Halifax's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Kalasha Macon was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Northwest Halifax's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for North Edgecombe, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Northwest Halifax will host Weldon at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th. As for North Edgecombe, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 62-35 victory against Northampton County on the 9th.
