New Haven fell victim to St. Clair and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 9-0 to the Bulldogs. The shutout was out of character for the Shamrocks seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.
Meanwhile, Silex had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against the Bulldogs as they made off with a 14-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Owls, who have now won seven contests by nine runs or more so far this season.
Chase Mullen made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits.
