Basketball Recap: Central School Takes a Loss

Central School lost against Claiborne Academy on January 7th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Central School Pioneers took a 21-2 bruising from the Claiborne Academy Rebels. The contest marked the Pioneers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Claiborne Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lindy Spurlock, who posted ten points. Those ten points gave Spurlock a new career-high.

Central School has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for Claiborne Academy, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-13.

Central School won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Briarfield Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Claiborne Academy, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Riverdale Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverdale Academy will roll in looking for their 20th straight victory, something Claiborne Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
