Basketball Recap: Wakulla Takes a Loss

Wakulla lost against Gadsden County back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The matchup between the Wakulla War Eagles and the Gadsden County Jaguars didn't end well, with the Wakulla War Eagles falling 41-27.

Despite the defeat, Wakulla saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Amariyah Donaldson almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. That was a full 55.6% of Wakulla's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyson Terrell, who put up eight points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals.

Wakulla has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Gadsden County, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Wakulla wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 31-20 victory against Liberty County on the 13th. As for Gadsden County, they will take on Chiles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gadsden County is facing Chiles at the right time seeing as Chiles is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
