Basketball Recap: Western Skates Past Del Sol with Ease

Western had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Del Sol Dragons 71-44. The Warriors pushed the score to 58-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Dragons cut but never quite recovered from.

Del Sol's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chakori Ramsey-Smith, who posted 12 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was James Heath, who scored ten points.

Western's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-12. As for Del Sol, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western has already played their next contest (against Chaparral), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Del Sol will host Shadow Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Del Sol is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50 points per game this season.
