Baseball Recap: New Caney Takes a Loss

New Caney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 6-1 to the Willis Wildkats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildkats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-3 last Friday.

New Caney's loss dropped their record down to 4-13-1. As for Willis, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-9-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. New Caney will face off against rival Caney Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Willis is set to square off against their familiar foe Conroe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildkats are on a six-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Tigers a five-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
