Football Recap: Bridgeport Takes a Loss

If Bridgeport was riding high fresh off their 74-20 takedown of Soap Lake last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs took a blow against the Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian Lions on Friday, falling 46-18. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.

Bridgeport's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sean Morales, who picked up 127 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Morales was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 60 yards. Another signal caller making a difference was Aidan Dedios, who threw for 207 yards and three TDs.

Johnny Ferguson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 169 yards and three scores on only ten carries, while also throwing for 139 yards and one touchdown for Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian. That's the most rushing touchdowns Ferguson has posted since back in November of 2024. Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian's leading receiver Treyson Kast was Ferguson's top target yet again, picking up 72 receiving yards and one TD.

Bridgeport's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Bridgeport has already played their next matchup, a 42-22 defeat against Davenport on the 31st. As for Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 53-8 victory against Soap Lake on the 31st.
