Recap: Heppner Mustangs vs. Regis Rams
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Heppner Mustangs can now relate to. They fell 27-20 to Regis on Saturday. Heppner was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Regis apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Despite the loss, Heppner still got an impressive performance from Cameron Proudfoot, who picked up 142 receiving yards and a touchdown. Proudfoot's longest reception was for an incredible 85 yards.
Among those leading the charge was Noah Richter, who rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Kollin Schumacher also helped out by tossing the rock for 267 yards.
Heppner's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Regis, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0.
Heppner does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Regis will face off against Weston-McEwen/Griswold at TBD on Friday. Weston-McEwen/Griswold will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
